What’s your Pantone?

karenhurley:

For her project Humanae, Angelica Dass, Brazilian artist and photographer, has been taking more than a thousand portraits of people from very different parts of the world, showing that labels such as red, white, brown and yellow are pretty inaccurate ways to define human skin.

THE PEOPLE OF THE LABYRINTHS
Exhibition ‘’Suppose it’s all true, what then…’’
31 january - 15 march 2014

@ Vrije academie GEMAK

Wich ends up as a lifestyle concept, looks just like an autonomic  exposition at first. A full presentation of research, inspiration and documentaries.  As I walk in I’m welcomed by two bold colored maria statues dressed with sentences and words what could bring joy and either pain to your mind. The art seems to be inspired by native and tribal symbols. There are symbols screen printed on clothes, coats and furniture. Different meanings are put in a different contexts. The impression of it all leaves me by the thought that culture, fashion and art are a fusion of today’s society. Where ‘’identification’’ is the society itself.
A beautiful bold way to communicate.

All work is done by Hans Demoed & Geert de Rooij.
